Need help and a Giveaway

I can not believe Valentine's is THIS week.  Wow! Where has the year gone.  In Thailand Valentine's is not really celebrated. At my school we do acknowledge it but definitely not in the same way as in America.  We will have a small party do a craft and thats about it.  No Valentines to share or fun boxes or heart candy or any of those things.  My heart will be a little sad but we will try to make it fun.

The only problem is I am having trouble finding crafts that are simple that I can do here that don't require any of the specialty Valentine's things.  Do you have any suggestions for me????? Please help! What are you doing for it?

Also I wanted to share the giveaway that Shanyn from Coffee, Kids, and Compulsive Lists is hosting.  She has reached over 500 followers on her blog, TPT, and Pinterest! What a feat!!  Go be part of her giveaway!

Sorry to be so short. The school is hosting a MAJOR basketball tournament and I am volunteering! Hopefully it will be cool as some games are played outside!

Amazing Giveaway and Writing questions

Lindsay from My Life as a Third Grade Teacher  is having an AMAZING giveaway for reaching 600 followers.

My Life as a 3rd Grade Teacher

Now I am not one to blog about other people's giveaways to earn credits but this one I would blog about even if I didn't get more credits!  I am excited about every, single item that is a part of this giveaway.... and that does not happen often.  You should definitely go check it out (even though it means less of a chance for me)! I hope that you find it as amazing as I do.

How many of you use the 6+1 Traits of Writing in your classrooms.  I have learned that the 3rd and 5th grades sort of use it so I am feeling the pressure to implement it in my class, even though I have little knowledge of it.  Any suggestions, any ideas, any thoughts, any advice? Currently the 4th grade just makes up whatever writing they want to do... sort of.  (I have learned that in International land we have a lot more wiggle room than I was anticipating!!)

Let me know your thoughts and go check out the awesome giveaway at My Life as a Third Grade Teacher!
