TPT Sale Show & Tell

I am linking up with my new found friend Julie from My Journey to 5th Grade.  She is a fellow Michigander, even though I only went to university there, Michigan still has a special place in my heart!

My Journey to 5th Grade

This sale was quite motivating for me.  I had not planned on buying anything for awhile and then suddenly the sale through me into last minute Christmas shopping mode.  You know the feeling when you realize you dont have a single gift and the holiday is right around the corner.  So I mad dashed around the website trying to find things that would suite my upcoming needs.

Currently we are focusing on verbs and subject verb agreement.  Having almost all ESL or even ETL (English as a Third Language ;)) students this topic is hit very hard.  The saying 'Does that sound right' doesnt work for them because they have no idea! So we practice, and practice, and practice!! Hopefully now we can make it a little more fun too!

I then got these Math centers from 2nd Grade Shenanigans! I have been eyeing them for quite some time so I decided to dive in and get one.  I think my class will love them!

I am in DESPERATE need of organizing my library, so I bought these beautiful library labels.  Hopefully they motivate me to start organizing!  I was blessed to inherit a full library, but the books are thrown randomly on bookcases and it is a DISASTER!!

Finally, I know I am super late in the game, but I am beginning my research/understanding of Guided Reading. I have learned a lot about Literature Circles but want to see how Guided Reading might fit instead. So I bought this Guided Reading Guru packet to hopefully help.

I then found one more thing I wanted to buy. It was posters from Lessons with Laughter.  They look amazing.  BUT that was all that I wanted.  I hate that TPT wont let me make a purchase under $3.00, especially during sales.  I understand credit card fees and things but it is sad.  I guess I am probably going to have to suck it up and pay full price for them!

Oh well, hop on over to the linky and see what fabulous things others have gotten!

TPT Purchases

TPT sales are a life saver.  I am so in love with my purchases this round. My classroom is in for some major changes for the good!!  Today, I am linking up with Erin from Tales from Room 112 and my home country, OHIO!!, to share our purchases from Cyber Monday Sale.

I have been soaking up every post that Stephanie from Teaching in Room 6 has done about calendar math.  Here is the link to all of those posts.  I have been dying to try this with my students but did not know how to get it started or what to create for the worksheet.

Because of the sale I could finally get my hands on her Calendar Math for Upper Grades BUNDLE Pack!! I am so excited to use this in my classroom. I am very happy to get the bundle pack because it will help me know where my students should be and where they are headed!  I am stoked about this.
I am also very very excited to have finally gotten 101+ Writing Prompts from Katie Jones Dirty Hands and Lesson Plans.  My kids will never be able to complain again for not having anything to write about!!

Finally I got the Math Enrichment Worksheets and Nonfiction Text Features Task Cards from the lovely Rachel Lynette atMinds in Bloom.  I just realized that I have purchased many of her things but am not following her blog.  Don't worry that has been corrected now!

Whew!! Can you tell I am excited about these things?!?! I wish my other Christmas shopping would be this easy and fun!

On a side note, I had a fantastic weekend and got to experience this unforgettable festival!!!

Classroom Photos

Today was long. But it ended on such a good note.  The new teachers all went out to dinner to relax and not talk about school!! It was wonderful and very much needed for a girl like me.

I know that I should have posted these pictures earlier but I never got around to it!  Also, I am not incredibly happy with my room design and layout still but for now it is what I have to work with.  So without further ado.....

Welcome to 4 B!

crazy desk area....
I did just get my Elmo today at the very end of the day.... BUT I can't wait to use it.  It does require me to rearrange my desk space so hopefully that area will be much more neat in a little while!

First Day Jitters Linky

Today I am linking up with Fierce in Fourth for her First Day Jitters Blog Hop.  She wants to know some of the things we are worried about for our first day!  Well.... I have a lot! But it is great for me to see everyone else having jitters as well.

Rules are to share three things you are jittery about!  So I will definitely limit myself here!

1.  Not only have I moved to a foreign land and am trying to figure out how to function here, I have to learn all kinds of new names.  Most people here have a really long name but also nick names. So I have to decipher what the actual name and nick name are! So I am worried I am going to mess up everyone's names!!

2.  I had a nightmare dream that the first day I walked into my classroom and it was exactly how I left the other day.... a MESS.  The room had none of my personal things in it and I knew where nothing was.  Ugh. no fun thinking about that!

3.  With it being my first year I am nervous about the curriculum and the flow of everything. I feel like I have soooo much to catch up on and learn this year.

But all of this to say that I am super super excited about this upcoming year and my new adventures!!

Now go on and check out the Blog Hop with Fierce in Fourth.

Summer Shopping Linky Party

I am hopefully linking up with Ladybug Teacher Files and her Summer Shopping Linky Party. As you hopefully know I am moving to Thailand to teach.  I am super duper excited!!! I can not wait to get there and jump in to this adventure.  SOOOOO I do not know a THING about my classroom.  Yes, that is my loud voice but not my excited voice though! Anyway, since I do not know anything about my classroom I have been trying to create and find things that are basics to any classroom.  I have been thinking about things that I could not function without!!! Is that a little dramatic?? Such things like:

I had to have a bell. Since I dont have the loudest voice, I rely on this to get students attention!

I also had to get these stickers. What shopping trip does not include stickers!

Also, I have been told of a few things that I can not get in Thailand such as calendars and bulletin board borders.  Since I am a new teacher and have nothing of my own yet. I figured I would stock up on the bulletin board things. Remember however that I was not given a shipping allowance so all of these things will have to fit in my suitcase.  So for me this is a lot of things.  I love all of these things.  Can you notice my theme???

I am trying to stay in a blue and green color scheme with bright accents... basically lots of color! and.... POLKA DOTS!!!! Yes, this is my loud and Happy face!! Can you see a difference? No? Oh.  I guess I will have to work on that.  But I am so so so happy with these purchase.  I bought all of my items from MPM School Supplies.  For now this will be all of my purchases.  However, once I get to Thailand and see my classroom I am certain I will have much more to share with you.  24 days until arrival in Chiang Mai.
